It was he who introduced a motion at the Central Committee meeting to stop "the Physicians` case", to release innocent people from camps and punish the forgers of their cases. Beriia carried out the first mass amnesty and released women with children and criminals sentenced for small charges. Was Beriia a victim of a political plot or punished for his real crimes? E.
