This is a new extended edition of memoirs by Nina Voronel`. The first edition, called "Bes Prikras" (2003), initiated a stormy argument in the Russian media. Nina Voronel’ with her husband, a physicist and "otkaznik", were active members of the dissident movement in 1970s-1980s. She met many writers and scientists who were the core of the intelligentsia resistance to the soviet regime. She claims that she gives a straightforward account of their lives and their personalities, and their ambiguous relations with the secret police.
