Ferdinand Foch (1851-1929), a notable French officer and military historian, the chief of the Academy of the General Staff, one of the organizers of the intervention in Russia, ended WW1 as the commander-in-chief of the Entente military forces. Before his military career Foch received a bachelor’s degree in literature. His memoirs about the war are not only very informative, but also very well written. 21 maps. The first edition of this book in Russian was in 1939. There is no information about the translator in this publication.
