The author of the book is the outstanding polar scientist and explorer Nikolai Pinegin (1883-1940), painter and creator of the first documentary movie about the Arctic. This book is about the famous expedition led by Georgii Sedov (1877-1914) to the North Pole (1912-1914) with the participation of the author of the book.
This is the second volume of a multi-volume publication on the history of the second Kamchatka expedition led by Vitus Bering. The first volume (2001) covers 1730-33. The current volume includes 245 documents of 1734-36.
