This book analyzes the theory of Viktor Suvorov (Rezun) stating that the tragic events of 1941 were a result of Stalin’s planned "liberating march" to Europe. Suvorov, a former KGB officer, defected to the West where he became known as a writer after his first book, The Liberator, published in English in 1981 and later translated into 23 languages. Isaev analyzes facts and numbers given by Suvorov, checks their validity and interpretation. He finds this theory wrong and offers the most recent view of Russian losses in the first stage of WWII.
