The Last Diary of Tsaritsa Alexandra was first published in the language of original by Yale University Press in 1997. The Russian edition of the Diary is not a direct copy of the first publication. First, this book covers a longer chronological period, including the period from her arrest to her tragic death. Secondly, it has much more detailed comments. Numerous historical documents related to the Tsaritsa`s diaries, included as a commentary, present valuable historical and cultural background and contain many interesting details of the every day life of the Romanov family. Most of the names were omitted or abbreviated by Alexandra, many events were described in Aesopic language. Supplements include: chronicle of this period, annotated list of names, report of N.A. Sokolov (1882-1924), a Russian lawyer, who was requested to investigate the murder of the Tsar’s family in Ekaterinburg in 1919.
