This book is one of the volumes of unnumbered collected works of the renowned Russian philologist and specialist in Christian culture, Sergei Averintsev (1937-2004). It is a significantly extended, almost doubled edition of the book published in 2001. It consists of two parts. The first part is a dictionary of the main concepts of Christian culture. These articles were written for several Russian encyclopedias, but collected together they compile an original small encyclopedia of Christianity. The second part of the book contains the author`s new articles on the Sophia (masterstvo-snanie-mudrost`) in the context of the wars and catastrophes of the twentieth century. Also included is a bibliography of Averintsev`s works, articles, and translations. Bibliographical references.
