Gennadii Shpalikov (1937-1974) was a playwright, film director, poet, and writer. His script and lyrics for the film "I Walk by Moscow" made him famous. This book contains his multifarious works: nine film scripts, the play Grazhdanin Fioletovoi Respubliki, stories, chapters of an unfinished novel, diaries and drafts. It conveys many distinctive traits of the 1950s-1970s, and gives an engaging portrait of the gifted, droll, and spirited author.
