This book continues the author`s previous book "Architecture of Stalin: Psychology and Style. 2007 (code 021160)". If the first one was centered on the analysis of the architectural style called "Stalinskii", the current book is about the personal role of Stalin in forming this style. There are many clues that Stalin personally was involved in managing architecture as he managed other arts and literature. Khmel`nitskii investigated several cases where Stalin made decisions about the winners of soviet architecture contests for building projects in Moscow or their cancellation if he was not satisfied with their results. This book is about the social history of architecture in the late period of Stalinism. 16 illustrations.
