The New Jerusalem conceived and designed by Patriarch Nikon in the 17th century near Moscow is considered as a spatial icon in this collection work. The contributors study the creation of sacred spaces as a special type of creativity. This complex was a part of the idea of the sacralization of Rus and turning it into a new Holy Land and chosen place of Judgment Day The collection studies hierotopy as a result of human physical and spiritual efforts.
