This book contains three fundamental works by Mongolian historians of the 17th, 19th and 20th centuries. The Treatise by Erdenipe I (1877-1960) "Final Cause of Religions in Mongolia", written in the 1930s, is published for the first time. The Mongolian original of this manuscript has not been found as yet. The treatise by Jambodorji "The Crystal Mirror", belonging to the first half of the 19th century, has never been translated into any of the European languages. Finally, one of the earliest annals, "The Golden Summary", by an anonymous author of the 17th century, was published only in an approximate translation into Russian by G. Gomboev in 1858. These three works are important for understanding the history of Mongolia and of the attitude of Mongols towards their past development as nomadic and settled nations. Bibliography, comments.
