This is an anthology of excerpts from the five volume edition of the Philokalia, a collection of important texts of the Byzantine Hesychast tradition in Russian translation: Anthony the Great, Macarius the Great, John Climacus, Maxim the Confessor, Gregory of Sinai, and Gregory Palamas. The excerpts are arranged topically by the superior of the Russian Orthodox monastery in Harbin archpriest Iuvenalii. The current edition is additionally edited and free from the mistakes of the previous one. Also available the complete Russian translation of the Philokalia (2000).
