This is a collection of works on the history and philology of Turkish and Mongolian peoples by the famous Russian scholar Vasilii Bartol`d (1869-1930). The book consists of three big works: Twelve Lectures on the History of Turkish Peoples in the Central Asia; The History of Turkish-Mongolian Peoples; Articles for the Encyclopedia of Islam (pp. 489-632). Also included are Bartol`d`s reviews and critical essays on scientific works of his colleagues. This book is a reprint of the fifth volume of V. Bartol`d`s collected works (1968).
