It is amazing that the series Life of Outstanding People that has produced 822 volumes in seventy years has not published any biography of Vladimir Lenin until this one. This biography by Robert Payne published in 1964 is translated into Russian for the first time. The editors of the series made their choice in favor of this biography because they found it somewhat more balanced and more objective than biographies written by Russian authors.
