This book is about the formation of the Russian national school of jewelers on the threshold of the 19th-20th centuries. Among the outstanding masters were: Carl Faberge (1846-1920), P. Ovchinnikov, and I. Khlebnikov. The history of this art in Russia begins when Gustav Faberge started his gold and silver work business in St. Petersburg in 1848, and then expanded it to several of the largest cities of Russia. Two thirds of this book is given to illustrations of Russian jewelry of this period. 111 color illustrations and 29 photographs. List of court jewelers from Moscow, St. Petersburg, and abroad. Bibliography.
