[ Free thing : The Poetics of "neostranenie" in Andrei Platonov`s works]
2nd upd. ed.
Novosibirsk: Nauka, 2001 122 p pbk. 14 x 21.5 cm. Printing 500 ISBN: 502030641X Language: Russian
The author of this monograph adduces a hypothesis about the existence of two alternative poetics in Platonov`s works, called by the author "ostranenie" and "neostranenie" The essence of the latter is a refusal to take strange, unknown, or new things as anything unusual. In another words, Platanov considered strange things as normal or even given. The author shows the functions of this artistic principle as a key to understanding many of Platonov`s works, his own method of influencing a reader, and shows that it may be a key to understanding other works of Russian literature as well.
