This book is about the reconstruction of the Russian imperial summer residence Peterhof, founded in 1714 by Peter the First. The estate was completely destroyed during World War II. Iakov Shurygin (1904-1998), the author of this chronicle and memoir, was in charge of the restoration of its unique architecture, parks and fountains. Richly illustrated.
