The author continues his analysis of the history of the forming and functioning of the ancient all-Slavic written language. This monograph focuses on linguistic and textological aspects of the history, particularly, Church Slavonic texts recopied in Rus. The author published a corpus of Kirill and Mefodii sources and some texts from the so called Il`ina Kniga. The book consists of five chapters which study the following topics; method of publication of translated sources; indirect influence of Hebrew on Church Slavonic books; assimilation of the archaic source the Il`ina Kniga; mechanisms and results of paraphrasing texts; specifics of speech-behavior tactics and the subjective experience of time in texts of various genres.
