He was also a talented writer of books, plays, and film scripts. This book consists of his autobiography, notes about M. Bulgakov, his memoirs about his time in prison and exile. The last work, called After Death, is a story about Ermolinskii`s efforts to publish Bulgakov`s works which finally succeeded with help of Bulgakov`s widow Elena Sergeevna. This book makes a pair with the book of memoirs of his wife, the artist Tatiana Lugovskaia Kak Zanaiu, Kak Pomniu, Kak Umeiu. Also included are memoirs about Ermolinskii, letters of M. and E.
