Criminality in Petrograd in 1917-1921 and the fight against it

This monograph deals with the socio-criminological situation in Petrograd during three periods: between the two revolution ( March-October 1917); the transition period – the period of forming new law enforcement bodies; the fight against criminals in post-revolutionary Petrograd: 1918-1921. Different types of criminal behavior were analyzed: the fight against "spekulants" (speculators), business crime, and deviant behavior: drunkenness, drug abuse, prostitution, and gambling. The author shows a trend of crime growth during the turning points. Bibliography
