This is the seventh volume of the series Modern and Contemporary Russian History: Monographs and Documents. Aleksandr Lappo-Danilevskii (1863-1919), historian and philosopher, was one of contributors to the collected work Issues of Idealism published in 1902, along with famous philosophers S.A. Askol`dov, N.A. Berdiaev, S.N. Bulgakov, S.L. Frank, B.A. Kistiakovskii, etc. He belonged to the St. Petersburg Historical School and left works in many areas of Russian history of the 17th-18th centuries. This monograph reviews his major historical works and his contribution to the philosophy and methodology of history in the context and the paradigm developed in the School. The series started in 2001. Some previous volumes are also available.
