The book covers the extensive discussion about reforming the liturgical language, the work of the Commission on the Correction of Liturgical Books (1907-1917), the Russian Renewed Church (Obnovlencheskaia) (1917-1922) and their sweeping program of ecclesiastical reform, publishing activities of the Moscow Patriarchate in 1943-1988. The authors study and teach the Church Slavonic language, they also published a textbook of this language. Supplements include several documents from the history in subject. Bibliography.
