This is a memoir of the amazing woman whom some call the Russian Jean D`Arc. Maria Bochkareva(1889-1920) served WWI as volunteer, fought at the front as a soldier, and was wounded three times. At the end of the war corporal Bochkareva formed the first battalion of women, called the "Battalion of Death" to show men an example of self-sacrifice for the Tsar and for Russia. Among her soldiers were women of all social strata, including the nobility. (0.285 kg.)
