This book is based on several works of the notable journalist and historian of Siberia Nikolai Mikhailovich Iadrintsev (1842-1894). He organized several expeditions into remote areas of Siberia and adjacent territories where he studied the life of aboriginal peoples before they this vast territory was populated by settlers from other parts of Russia.
