Not much is known about the apostle Andrew Protokletos, or the First-called, one of the disciples of Christ according to the New Testament, and the brother of Saint Peter. Vladimir Monomakh ordered the inclusion of a version of apostle Andrei`s mission and his trip to Russia in the chronicle "Povest` Vremennykh Let" (The Tale of Bygone Years). The fact of the apostle’s visit was doubted by many Russian historians. However the Byzantium and later Russian Church created the cult of Andrei Pervozvannyi. The first church of his name was built in 1086 in city of Kiev. This book is not a biography in a proper sense but rather a novel where the life of the apostle is given in many versions based on old manuscripts and arguments among professional historians and philologists (0.455 kg.)
