This monograph studies the iconography of the poster by El Lisitsky "Beat the whites with a red wedge", a classic of early soviet propaganda. The analysis of this work is done in the context of development of the Russian avant-garde art: from Futurism to non-subject art and then to the new semiotic system. This poster became an emblem of avant-garde art, it was incorporated in many other posters, and, according to the author, became the symbol of revolution as such. 94 color ill.
