These are the memoirs of Petr Polovtsev, a military officer since 1897, about the events of the two Russian revolutions of 1917, February and October, and 1918. The diary contains a great deal of valuable information about the army, ethnic tensions among the soldiers, the officers views and sympathies, the Interim government and the atmosphere in the corridors of power.
