However, for almost two decades the new state was forced to use professionals from the previous epoch whom they called "bourgeois specialists". This monograph studies party and government policy towards the "old" professionals in Siberia, their number and structure, their role in the economy, pay, living standards, social and legal status. Many of them were not accepted by Stalin`s party machine, and finally became victims of repression.
