The author of this book, Mikhail Nazarov (b. 1948), is publisher of the historio-sophian series The Russian Idea, vice-chairman of the Monarchist Union of Russian Emigration, lives in Russia. Jewish social activists filed three cases against him accusing him of hate crimes against the Jews, and every time he was acquitted. This book is a dispute between two former university mates, participants of the same anti-communist group in their youth. The main themes of their dispute are: Orthodox anti-Semitism, Russian history, the Russian policy towards the Palestine and Israel, The Russian idea, etc. This argument reminds one of the old arguments between "zapdniks" and "pochvenniks".
