This is a memoir of a great Russian philosopher Vasilii Vasil`evich Zen`kovskii (1881-1962). This memoir is about the convocation of the Ukrainian Synod of the Orthodox Church and the five-month period of the independent rule of the Synod, May-October 1918. V. Zen`kovskii served as the minister of religion under hetman of Ukraine P.P. Skoropadskii. The memoir was written 13 years later in emigration.
