This is the fourth volume of the diaries of Vladimir Teliakovskii (1860-1924), one of the most trustworthy sources on the history of Russian theater, particularly of the Emperor’s theaters: Bol`shoi, Malyi and Novyi. The volume covers the 1906-1909 seasons in the Moscow and St. Petersburg theaters. The main events are: the productions of V.E. Meierkhol’d in the Emperor`s theaters, crisis of the Malyi theater, the revival of the St. Peterburg opera troupe in the Mariinskii Theater, etc. Started in 1998. Comments.
