Petrova, N.K Antifashistskie Komitety v SSSR:1941-1945 g.g.
[ Antifascist committees in the USSR: 1941-1945]
Moscow: Institut Rossiiskoi Istorii, 1999 340 p pbk. 13 x 20 cm. Printing 250 ISBN: 5805500248 Language: RussianThe author studies one of the least researched issues in the history the Great Patriotic war: international activities of Antifascist organizations particularly in the territory of one of Russia’s allies, the US. Creating Antifascist organizations was one of the ways to establish information exchange with foreign countries for the Soviet authorities. Sovinformbiuro, the government information agency, gave birth to several committees and societies: Vseslavianskii (All-Slavic), Jewish, etc. One of these organizations, the Jewish Antifascist Committee, got more attention than the others because of its tragic fate: most of its leaders were repressed after the war. Most of these organizations, however, continued their existence after the war in their respective countries. Bibliography, name index.
