This edition is conceived as a collection of preparatory materials for a future academic (critical or at least complete) publication of the collected works of Ivan Bunin (1870-1953), the first Russian to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature (1933). The second volume includes new or little known materials from Russian and foreign archives (Leeds Russian Archive, Beinecke Library, RGALI, IRLI, RNB, and private collections). Many of them are published in full for the first time, including Bunin`s correspondence with N. Bereberova, P.M. Bitsilli, etc. The volume is illustrated with a large number of photographs of Bunin and people associated with him from the holdings of the Leed Russian Archive and for the most part never previously published.
