New Testament scholarship is a relatively new field formed at the end of the 19th-early 20th centuries. It studies the history of Christianity based on texts of the New Testament as a historical source. One of the lines of these studies is a reconstruction of the theological views of the Apostle Paul and of his role in the separation of the early Christian movement from Judaism and its formation as a separate religion. This book includes translations of two authoritative works in this field: Albert Schweitzer "Mysticism of the Apostle Paul" (1930) and E.P. Sanders "Paul, the law and the Jewish people" (1983). Bibliography, index of quotations from the Bible and ancient literature.
