This is a collection of letters-confessions about the most memorable day of the Great Patriotic War sent to the newspaper Komsomol`skaia Pravda by invitation in 1961-65, just 20 years after the war. Many among the correspondents are veterans of the war, partisans, and survivors of the occupation. They are people of various ethnic and social background.
