This book is about Ioann Evgenicus, a Byzantine writer and public figure, the younger brother of St. Mark of Ephesus and a participant in the Florentine Union, which was an unsuccessful attempt to consolidate the Catholic and the Orthodox churches. He managed to leave Italy and did not sign the decision of the Union. The study deals with little known aspects of this struggle and participation of Ioann Evgenicus in it.
