This ninth volume of the series commemorates the 90th birthday of the outstanding philologist Vladimir Nadeliaev (1912-1985), the founder of experimental phonetic studies of the languages of Siberia. The articles included in this collection evolve Nadeliaev`s theory and method in studying vocal and consonant systems of Altaic, Shor, Tuvan, Taymyr Dolgan, and other Siberian dialects. The Siberian linguistic school founded by professor M. I. Cheremisina has been working on the creation of a meta-language and research method which will permit description of various languages of Siberia. Started in 1995. Volumes 1-17 are also available.
