Language: RussianSaul Borovoi (1903-1989) started as a historian in the Odessa Historical Archive, working for the literary historian Iulian Oksman. Later he was a researcher in the Jewish Academy Library in Odessa. His first book was about the Jewish agrarian colonization in old Russia, its policy, ideology, economy, and everyday life. Since then his main topic has been the history of Jews in Ukraine in the 16th-19th centuries. This book is his memoirs of his family, friends, and outstanding people he has met, including A. Gotalov-Gotlib, I.Riminik, and L.D. Trotskii. Bibliographic comments, name index.
