This is a unique monument of Russian heraldry and sphragistics. The manuscript was compiled by Anisim Titovich Kniazev, given as a gift to Catherine the Great, lost, and found only at the end of the 19th century. It includes 553 Russian private seals of the 17th century with original coats of arms of the nobility. These coats were not edited by the Russian authorities, and therefore are an especially valuable historical source. The armorial was first published by S.N. Troinitskii in 1912. The current edition is a reprint of the 1912 edition with new extended comments incorporating the achievements of heraldry and sphragistics of the last century. Comments and indices.
