This book is a combination of a memoir, historical witness and a collection of documents to support the author`s conclusions and charges. L. Il`ina starts the disintegration of the USSR much earlier then our contemporaries, from the beginning of WWII. A survivor of the Leningrad blockade, she analyzes the situation before, during and after the war basing her conclusions on available sources, and shows that Stalin and his apparatus started the war against his own people to win the war against Hitler. The book includes interesting statistics and documents from the St. Petersburg archives.
