This dictionary of Old Russian is planned to be published in ten volumes. It is prepared by scholars from the V. Vinogradov Institute of Russian Language. The fourth volume was published almost ten years ago and is not available. Starting with the fifth volume the editorial board has made several changes in the dictionary`s methodology and sources to reflect the achievements in philological studies of the last decade. This dictionary contains about 30,000 entries, excluding personal and geographical names, and ethnonyms. About one third of the words were not included in the previous version of the book (1988). Sources for the dictionary are chronicles, life stories, deeds, and scriptural and other texts of this period. Single volumes and standing order are available.
