This book continues the series of Rabinovitch`s publications on the history of the Bolshevik movement and the 1917 October revolution. This current monograph is based on the documents declassified in the 1990s. It sheds light on how the Bolshevik party changed its nature and started to remove the democracy in the new government, and to lay the basis for the later authoritarian soviet system.
