Language: RussianThis is a collection of diaries, articles and letters of the Russian historian A. Ratner (1948-1991) as well as memoirs about him. His areas of professional interests were: historiography of Russian liberation movement and the history of publishing in Russia. He was a compiler and editor of the biographical dictionary "Istoriki Russkogo Osvoboditel`nogo (Revoliutsionnogo) Dvizheniia". During the soviet period Ratner chose not to be a part of the historical establishment who compromised most of the time in their studies under heavy ideological pressure. Instead he taught history to children, and later became an editor in the journal "Sovetskaia Bibliografiia". Comments, name index.
