This book provides the history of “confrontations” of eight composers to two of the most savage regimes of the twentieth century, namely the Nazi and Communist regimes. All of the composers were repressed, as well as their music. But nowadays Art gains revenge over Power. At last the composers’ writings have become part of music history. The idea of one of the projects of the fund “Return” lies at the basis of the plot of the book. At the concerts, held within the bounds of the project “Repressed music”, unknown works by V. Zaderatsky, A.A. Mosolov (1900-73), A. Veprik, M. Vaynberg, P. Khaac and others sounded. The CD was recorded by the project participants in 2006.
