This book is a collection of four versions of the tale about a wooden little man. The hero of the first two stories is Pinoccio, the heroes of the other two - Buratino. The first two are the translations of the story by Italian writer C. Collodi into Russian, the other two - literary narrations of this tale by A. Tolstoi (based on translation by N. Petrovskaia, 1924). This collection allows one to trace how the story has changed and how Pinoccio is different from Buratino. Afterword by A. Bezrukova.
