Pavel Feodorovich Kochnev (1855-1939), born in the town of Tyumen, served as a manager (prikazchik) for several middle sized businesses (salt mining, construction of barges, sale of grains, etc.) around the great Siberian river Ob`. The notes written in 1930s cover his own life, the fates of his neighbors and partners, the city and village life style, psychological portraits of Siberian people.
