This is a biography of one of the leaders of the White Cause, a veteran of WWI, General Andrei Stepanovich Bakich (1878-1922). He was born in Montenegro and spent more than 20 years of his life in the Russian army. The author describes the discordant relations among Bakich and two other leaders of the White Cause B.V. Annenkov and A.I. Dutov, the tragic fate of the Cossacks led by Bakich in Russia, China, and Mongolia.
