This book offers all fictional works and documentary materials of the outstanding Russian writer Fedor Abramov (1920-1983) on the Great Patriotic War and the victory, including his diaries. He volunteered for the war at its very beginning, was twice wounded, then drafted into the NKVD division. His file was recently declassified and shows how he preserved his integrity in what may have been the most difficult phase of his life. Afterword by A.B. Kononov about Abramov`s service in the NKVD (1943-1945). Comments.
