This is the third volume of the collection of thoughts on the genesis and history of the Russian mentality and self-identity. Vol. I. Dalekie Predki: 1st through 17th centuries (Old Ancestors). Vol. II. Na Evropeiskuiu Dorogu Marsh! 18th to the first quarter of the 19th centuries. (To the European road, forward!). This third volume include thoughts about the late 19th - 20th centuries. It shows that Russians have two different versions of their life philosophy: official (for holidays) and everyday (for themselves). The second one is presented in this anthology of quotations from the most famous Russian and foreign thinkers, historians, writers, social scientists, diplomats and travelers about the Russian identity and mentality.
