This is the second volume in two books of materials related to the "Academic Case of 1929-1931", of which Tarle was one of the main figures. Evgenii Tarle (1874-1955) was a famous Russian historian. who studied a broad spectrum of areas: the French Revolution, Napoleon and his war with Russia, Peter the Great, his wars and foreign policy, and Russian military actions in the 18th and 19th centuries. His work "Europe in the Imperialist Epoch: 1871-1919", published in 1927, was one of the causes for his arrest and exile to Central Asia.
